The job: you will have various opportunities here for work and pay based on your skill set. Basics include sound template management & updating, technical duties related to the DAW and sample servers. Editing/recording custom sounds for sound library. Layering/editing music trailers, record productions, editing midi, virtual instruments, notation duties, getting midi info organized and properly sent to orchestrators, tuning vocals, filling in arrangements, finding new sounds. And much more...
Here are some qualities I'm looking for:
-you want to learn and are OK with being an assistant. No seasoned pros please unless this kind of work appeals to you.
-you love technology
-you have an insane work ethic
-you know how to make great sounds in engineering and/or programming
-you live in LA and are able to get transportation to Santa Monica location
Skills required:
-ability to read music and/or have excellent knowledge of different styles, theory and knowledge behind creating music
-ability to transcribe recorded music into Protools. I do not use Logic or any other DAW.
-must have thorough knowledge of Protools
-other qualities that are helpful to have: engineering, tuning/Melodyne, arranging, orchestration, Sibelius, Kontakt, VEPro, REX, midi, working w quantize and realtime parameters, embedding metadata, web programming skills, ability to sample and make loops
-import template setup for mix preparation
-make and record stems in Protools
