Essential Duties
and Responsibilities
This Lead Engineer will be part of the Program Engineering group and will have the following duties:
-Manage designs of electric/hybrid-electric vehicle components and systems, from requirements capture to full-scale production
-Capture requirements from internal and/or external customers and develop them into achievable design requirements
Develop and implement design best practices
Assess design risk and develop risk mitigation plans via DFMEA
-Direct work flow and resource usage to mitigate design risk and to maintain project timing and budget adherence
-Develop design verification & validation test plans
-Facilitate cross-functional design reviews
-Host recurring technical meetings and record meeting minutes
-Open, track, and assist in closing technical issues
-Manage design change requests
-Maintain budget and schedule creation and ongoing variance tracking Support diagnosis and resolution of field issues Sustain PFMEA generation
-Assist in process verification & validation planning
-Other related duties as assigned.
Education, Specialized Training and
Experience Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
-Knowledge of electric/hybrid-electric vehicle or/and distributed generation markets, customer requirements, and applications is strongly preferred.
-Familiarity with mechanical and electrical design aspects of power electronics components is preferred.
-Experience in conducting or contributing to DFMEAs is desired.
-Demonstrated ability to work on a fast-paced, deadline-driven Engineering design team is required.
-A high level of initiative
