Backus is a Provincial Heritage Park situated by Long Point (lake Erie). The park offers great rates for trailer sites along with pool, clean hot showers, camping, lots of trails along the Carolinian Forest line. A heritage village offers life as it was in the 1800's, open through summer season, great fishing in the stocked pond, activity center, 3 museums, re-inaction War of 1812, Bay fest in Port Rowan, Pot-hawk party on Lake Erie, Long point provincial park and the miles of white sandy beaches, warm waters on Lake Erie through the season for swimmers. The great Bass derby, the bay offers fishermen great fishing through the season, duck hunting, deer and wild turkey is also offered during their respective seasons.
I have built an 8'x24' foot deck which cost over 1000.00 dollars, new fire pit, 5'x5'foot shed, the trailer has air conditioning all the amenities of home, shower, heat, tv, microwave, awning, and a large lot big enough for the children to play in. The trailer has a large bed, I built a bunk bed above that can be taken down at anytime, pull out sofa bed, collapsible, dinner table that turns into a bed. Fridge, lots of cupboard space. The shed will come with gardening extras!
This is basically a turnkey operation, for someone who just wants a great location to vacation their summers away! 2 hrs from Toronto, great shopping in town with all the amenities! park staff are educated, very help full and a great place for the whole family to adventure and learn!
