Guitar Lesson Newmarket Guitar Player Magazine Recognizes Rick Washbrook
When I first meet a new student I really enjoy hearing what propels them towards the guitar player they want to become. During the first conversation I want to share each others likes about their favorite guitar players or musicians. I find this creates a good bonding and focus for both me and the student.
Guitar lessons Newmarket is where you found me. Why not give me a call for a free lesson to see if we get along.
I want to share a little about my teaching methods. I know when I sink my teeth into something musically that seems so simple to play. I play it and see just a little weakness here and there, admitting it is not played correctly. I say over and over again reviewing the basics daily keeps you in check with your playing.
I will practice just the parts I am week at thinking I can get over this little bump, in 10 minutes tops. So I sink my teeth into it a little more and after ten minutes has gone by before I know it, I have come up with new etude exercise to learn it better and perfect it. I can show you this process and how it can be enjoyable. I encourage trying different fingerings and even positions on the guitar to see where I can execute it the best, and I relax and slow the part down.
Another one of my own methods in helping my students with rhythms and syncopation is to encourage them to play rhythm patterns in the air with there hands and arms.
If we take away the guitar or the instrument from the student they will not have to be bothered with guitar playing left and right hand dexterity. When a rhythm for the student is hard for them to play I find it is usually that they played it incorrect from the first time they learned it, and never spent the time or had some one there to let them know they are playing it wrong.
I enjoy sharing with other guitarist what experience I have been through over the 38 years I have played the guitar.
