I am looking to start taking students in January 2012.
I am a 4th year music student at Carleton University; I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Honors Performance in April 2012.
I have been studying music for over 16 years. I am classically trained, but within the last few years have taken a more contemporary, popular route.
For right now I am only taking on students that are within the beginner stage; beginners looking to gain a better understanding of the art of voice.
I will be offering 30 min ($20), 45 min ($27), 1 hr lessons ($32). To be paid monthly at the beginning of the month.
Guide Line Lesson Plan:
Posture (proper performance stance) / understanding of spac
Breathing techniques
Rudiments: (scales, intervals, chords, major/minor, ect...)
Warm ups and vocal exercises
Pitch/ Tone/ Range
Repertoire
By understanding and mastering the rudiments a vocalist will establish strength and a well rounded sound.
Before a student starts their lessons I would like to sit down with them and assess what exactly they are looking for, and make a custom lesson plan to their needs.
Royal Conservatory Music Theory:
I will also be offering intro, grade 1 & 2 RCM theory.
It is extremely important and is smart to start learning it at the earlier stages.
