Stamped Concrete! Also known as Bomanite was invented in the 70's in Madera, California by Brad Bowman. It is the final word in hardscaping solutions, but seems to be catching on slowly in the Ottawa area.
It's strong!
-4600 pounds of force on 1 square inch required to break it
It's long lasting!
-With a coat of sealer once every 1-3 years this products lifespan has no definite end.
It's aesthetically pleasing!
-It wont let weeds grow up through it, sink or move.
It WILL crack!
-Yes it will, but trained concrete installers use a device known as a contraction cut, when placed properly will add to the pattern of the concrete and force cracking under the cut so it will never be seen.
Have a look into this wonderful product, in most cases the square foot price is lower than that of a reputable interlock installer.
