Hours of work are on an on-call, or irregularly scheduled basis.
In this role, you will:
? Provide diverse nursing services on an assigned shift
? Conduct health assessments
? Provide emergency intervention
? Administer medication
? Liaise with other professionals and correctional staff.
What we are looking for:
? A current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario is essential.
? You must be able to work rotating shifts in a correctional environment
? Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - CPR certification required.
Nursing Skills:
? You are knowledgeable in nursing theories and practices
? You are able to interpret and apply relevant legislation
? You have effective assessment, reasoning, judgment and analytical skills
? You can identify and evaluate health care issues and determine appropriate treatment.
Communication Skills:
? You use your communication and counselling skills to deal effectively with staff and clients
? You are able to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work with a diverse client group
? You can use a computer to prepare reports and input and retrieve offender information.
Prior to the offer of employment, the successful applicants will be required to undergo a police record check.
