Description

Seller-provided details for this listing.

If you're looking for a fun and easy science experiment to try at home, here's one that involves just an egg, a cup of vinegar, and a clear jar or glass. This simple activity is not only fascinating but also educational, especially for kids.

**Instructions:**

1. Pour one cup of vinegar into the jar.
2. Carefully place the egg into the vinegar.
3. Watch closely and note what happens (you'll see bubbles rising from the egg).
4. Leave the egg in the vinegar for a full day.

The next day, take the egg out and feel it. You'll notice that the eggshell is now soft.

**What's Happening Here:**

Eggs are made of a substance called calcium carbonate, which gives them their hard shell. Vinegar, on the other hand, contains acetic acid. When these two substances meet, a chemical reaction occurs, releasing carbon dioxide gas, which creates the bubbles you see. This reaction continues until all the calcium carbonate is used up, which usually takes about 24 hours. Once the process is complete, you'll find the egg is soft because the calcium is gone.

**Try This Next:**

After removing the egg from the vinegar, let it sit out on a table for another day and observe any changes.
