Description
Seller-provided details for this listing.
From many years of collecting , I have these very popular , wonderful , CAMPO DEL CIELO IRON METEORITES obtained from ( Northern Argentina ) South America .
The Campo iron meteorite's properties are ( Ochtahedrite , Coarse , Type 1AB ). The Campo meteoroid was very large which made it affordable to own a fragment as there were many found from the original crash to earth. ( Meteoroid enters atmosphere,
turns into a meteor when on fire, typically explode into fragments which are now found as meteorites ).
My Meteorites are considered Museum or AAA Quality with very nice , naturally sculptured features as you can see from the pictures provided . The surfaces have nice large regmaglypts , scoops with thumbprints , ablation and show remenants of fusion crust ( Important features that iron meteorites have when authentic) . The first campo meteorite find was in 1576 AD. It crashed down to earth 4-6OOO years ago, though the meteorite is really over 4.5 billion years old, as old as our solar system .
Provided with purchase comes the original certificate of authenticity , a statement of the campo meteorite's history and it's internal chemical composition .
Owning a Campo Del Cielo Meteorite makes for an excellent rare collection show off or that special gift that can only be obtained from OUT OF THIS WORLD!
I have listed 4 with pictures (Their weights are 2.410 , 2.780 , 2.910 , 2.650 kgs , approx. the size of a softball) and have several others in which you may pick and choose from but prices will vary on different factors such as weight and shape.
I'm asking for $425 each or best offer . I purchased these many years ago and as of January 2008 the Argentina Government has banned the export of their meteorites which means that the cost of owning these will be going up quickly and much more difficult to obtain.
All of my Meteorite's authenticity is verified and signed off by a member of the IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association).
