Description
Seller-provided details for this listing.
I am a teacher with considerable experience teaching piano, voice and theory in many different styles, including jazz, classical, blues, and pop. I also teach beginner trumpet and accordion. My lesson plan with any student is to discover expression through music and enjoy the experience, but this comes with a focus on understanding the foundations of musical theory and practice. Lessons are tailored to each individual, which creates a dynamic, creative, fun environment for everyone. I've had students of all ages and ability levels over the past 9 years, and have been grateful for the opportunity to help them discover the joy that music can bring. Some of my students have gone on to study music at U of T and McGill, and will be able to apply things they've learned with me to their careers and daily lives.
I am a graduate of the University of Toronto in Music Performance, as well as the Grant MacEwan College Jazz and Pop program. I have also taken 10 years of private classical lessons in the RCM tradition. As an active member of the Edmonton and Toronto music scenes, I'm involved in projects ranging from big bands to folk collectives to chamber choirs. I'm also an active composer and have written and arranged for a wide variety of instrumentations.
Lessons are $45.00 per hour
Hours are flexible
I am available to teach from my home downtown (Jasper and 111St); house calls are negotiable as well.
Hope to hear from you soon!
