Position Summary:
The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator for the Christmas Kettle Campaign is a full-time term employment position. This individual will be an integral team member of the Salvation Armys Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign in Edmonton, Alberta. Major responsibilities will be to provide support and assistance to the Special Event Coordinator and the Volunteer Coordinator in the areas of administration, database management, and recruitment of volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
 Daily schedules and activities are completed as required.
 Recruit and support Kettle volunteers.
 Assist in the maintenance of accurate records of all related activities of the campaign and ensure that necessary forms are completed and returned in a timely manner.
 Monitor the collection of kettle proceeds at the end of each campaign day and ensure safekeeping.
 Provide comments and suggestions relating to your experiences during this campaign to the Special Event Coordinator for the preparation of a final report.
 Assist in the coordination of the Volunteer Appreciation event.
 Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Post-Secondary Education. Preference will be given to those graduated or currently enrolled in a Voluntary Sector Management Program, Business Administration/Public Relations or Human Resources. Related experience accepted.
 Computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word).
 Enthusiastic team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
 Strong decision making and organizational skills.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Knowledge and interest in the programs and services this campaign supports and a commitment to fulfilling the mission of The Salvation Army.
 Adherence of Salvation Army policy and procedures.
 Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle is required.
